Overall Plan: The project is proposed to be developed over 16,500 acres, with 6,000 acres earmarked for the first phase. It includes two industrial nodes under the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and CBIC.

KRIS City focuses on sectors such as electronics and communication equipment, auto and auto components, pharmaceuticals, textiles and apparels, and food products. The development aims to generate significant employment opportunities, with an estimated 467,800 jobs by the fiscal year 2040.

About The Nakkapalli Bulk Drug Park:
The Nakkapalli Bulk Drug Park is a significant pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Andhra Pradesh, India, aimed at enhancing the production of bulk drugs, also known as Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
Location and Area:
Situated in Nakkapalli Mandal, Anakapalli District, the park spans approximately 2,001 acres across villages like Rajayyapeta, Buchirajupeta, Chandanada, Vempadu, and Donivani Lakshmipuram.
Development and Infrastructure:
The project is managed by the Andhra Pradesh Bulk Drug Infrastructure Corporation Ltd. (APBDICL), a subsidiary of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).
The total project cost is estimated at ₹1,876.66 crore, with the Central Government contributing a grant of ₹1,000 crore.
Infrastructure development includes roads, drainage systems, water supply, power distribution, a common effluent treatment plant, and facilities for steam generation and solvent recovery.

Current Status:
Originally planned in Kakinada, the project was relocated to Nakkapalli due to land acquisition challenges.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Nakkapalli Bulk Drug Park in Andhra Pradesh on January 8, 2025. The completion targeted by March 2026.
