Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla will be the pilot of the upcoming Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station (ISS). Mr. Shukla, who is also one of the four astronaut-designates selected for India’s Gaganyaan mission, will become the first Indian astronaut to go to the ISS. The mission will be launched from the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
What is the Axiom-4 Mission?
About:
Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) is a private spaceflight to the ISS operated by Axiom Space (US-based space-infrastructure development company), using the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft.
The SpaceX Crew Dragon is a reusable spacecraft that carries astronauts to and from the ISS.
It is the fourth flight in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), following Axiom Missions 1, 2, and 3.

The first crew on the ISS arrived on November 2, 2000.
Objective:

It is the largest artificial object in space.
It circles the Earth in roughly 93 minutes, completing 15.5 orbits per day.
Currently, the ISS has eight solar arrays generating about 160 kilowatts of power total.
